Ask Levels.fyi compensation questions right inside Slack and get answers with tables and charts, powered by the same Data Explorer you use on the web.

Before you start

You need:

• Permission to add apps to your Slack workspace (usually a Slack admin, or someone who can request app approval).
• One person on your team with Levels.fyi Enterprise benchmarking access. This person turns the app on for the workspace.

Step 1: Install the app

Click the "Add to Slack" button on the Data Explorer page at levels.fyi/explorer, or open this link in your browser:

Pick your workspace and click Allow.

Step 2: Activate the workspace

After installing, the app sends you a direct message in Slack.

• If the person who installed already has Levels.fyi Enterprise access, the app is active right away. You are done.
• If not, the message includes an "Activate this workspace" link. Send that link to your teammate who has Enterprise access. They open it, sign in to Levels.fyi, and the workspace turns on.

Once activated, everyone in the workspace can use it.

Step 3: Ask a question

Two ways to use it:

1. In any channel, mention the app and ask your question:

   Add the app to the channel first if it is a private channel.

2. Or send the app a direct message with your question.

You can reply in the same thread to ask follow ups. It remembers the conversation.
